THE HAUNTED Are Working On 'A Really Powerful And Interesting Album'

June 1, 2006

Swedish thrashers THE HAUNTED are contining work on their new album at Antfarm studios in Aarhus, Denmark, tentatively due before the end of the year via Century Media Records. Guitarist Anders Björler has posted the following update on the band's official web site:

"Sorry for the delay in updates, but we've all been really busy in the studio. We are currently doing the last two vocal tracks for the album. Everything so far has been going according to plan (or in fact ahead of schedule). We did the guitars (rhythm, clean and solos) in about seven days. Jonas [Björler, bass] finished his bass tracks on May 20th. Peter [Dolving, vocals] came down last Monday to do the vocal tracks. So here I am in [producer] Tue Madsen's small appartment having nothing better to do than to update you on the process. Danish TV sucks, and we only have an old crooked table-antenna which makes it even worse. We have seen all the DVDs and read all the Rock Hard and Metal Hammer magazines from Tue's private stash.

"Anyway, it's turning out to be a really powerful and interesting album. It's got the trademark HAUNTED aggression of course. Some songs are the most heavy we've ever made, but it's hard for me to explain the sound and the songs in intricate detail without speculation and the whole rumour circus getting out of hand. I'd much rather let you wait and hear it for yourselves.

"I have uploaded some pictures here (Windows Media presentation) and also a 2½-minute video clip here."

THE HAUNTED's fourth album, "rEVOLVEr", entered the Swedish album chart at position No. 18 upon its release in October 2004. The follow-up to 2003's "One Kill Wonder" was recorded at Gothenburg's famed Studio Fredman (IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, ARCH ENEMY) with co-producers Patrik J. Sten and Fredrik Nordström and mixed at Denmark's Antfarm Studio by Tue Madsen. The album was released as jewel-case CD and limited edition digipak (each with a different cover),featuring two special bonus tracks, "Fire Alive" and "Smut King".
